Angry IP Scanner fails to recognize hostname for JetDirect devices,
although there is a hostname configured in the jetDirect.
Is it needed a plugin to recognize this name ?
has anyone found the same problem ?

Most jetdirects doesn't have DNS addresses configured, and cannot register themselves to the DNSs.
Additional corporate DNS only allow IP-name registration for computer devices known to the Active Directory (as far as I know).
I run on a multinational, and I manage my country, and there are things I cannot change.
Now I'm targeting another problem.
New WinXP computers that I receive for my country doesn't have Messenger service enabled,
so the logged user_name + <03h> is not registered as Netbios name,
and the IP scanner fails to recognize the user logged in the computer.
I don't know any other way to get the logged on user, but if you know one,
I'm willing to write a plugging that implements it.
Angry IP Scanner displays hostnames returned by the local nameserver on your network (using a reverse DNS lookup).
Do you know if these devices do publish their hostnames to a nameserver? Or probably they just use the names internally?
