Basic Setup

IMPORTANT

In order for iPoet to work, all the files need to be in the same directory (folder).

To use iPoet purely as a generator:

You need three things:

• Java runtime environment (JRE) 6 or greater
• The generator program (iPoet.jar)
• The dictionary (file.yml)

JRE 6 (or greater) will (hopefully) already be installed on your computer, but if not, you can get the latest version here: Download Java

The generator can be downloaded here: iPoet

The dictionary can be downloaded here: file.yml (sourceforge.net)

If you don't want to download separate files then see the note below on downloading a .zip file

Or edit the dictionary to make your own topics as well as using the generator:

Alternatively, You could download all the files, compressed as a .zip file, which will contain everything you need (although it will need to be extracted) in one place.
