I just installed the ipodlinuxkernel with your ipodlinux-installer, worked like a charm. I am able to go into podzilla and play an mp3 thru the filebrowser (the rest seems unaccessible for some reason, i can't access the games section, it just doesn't do anything)
Anyway I am trying to telnet to the iPod. I am running Windows 2003 server (= XP more or less) so that comes with a IP over 1394 connection. I didn't have much luck with that one and surfing some sites said this is totally unreliable.
Thus I installed FireNet, after installing and plugging it to the iPod, lots of messages go scrolling the iPod with:
ieee1394: got invalid ack 252 from node 65472 (tcode) 4
and ends with:
ieee1394: ConfigROM quadlet transaction error for node 0-00: 1023
I read on http://ipodlinux.sourceforge.net/manual.shtml that there is a bug in the iPod ethernet driver and it possibly relates to it .. I was wondering if you had any ideas in patching FireNet (its not open source) or if we could hack our way around it?
Also since you wrote the installer for windows, is it normal that I don't have any behaviour in the podzilla menu (playlists don't work, neither does browsing categories, the othello game starts but doesn't seem to play?)
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
