I'm trying to get ethernet over firewire working, but I'm having a little trouble. What patch are you talking about? I tried ping. The iPod sees the ping come in, but I get an ack error going out. I've edited, recompiled and reinstalled the eth1394 module on my desktop, so that should be fine. I have kernel version 2.4.20-8d on the desktop.
