how to upload a normal apple firmware.

From memory i think there is a way to upload the custom-firemare image =
but i cant for thelife of me remember how.

    Does anyone have a windows xp program to update the ipod firmware?  =
My old linux server doesn't have firewire or usb on it.   I can see the =
disk as a volume from xp but don't know if there is a way to update the =
firmware.
