[Ipodlinux-devel] Patching 1.40 firmware

Hello. I'm trying to install linux on my third generation ipod. It comes =
with=20
firmware v1.40.

What have I to do to patch the kernel ELF with this firmware?

Can I downgrade my firmware to a 1.2x version? I have tried to install so=
me=20
1.2x firmware and my iPod does not boot!

I would like to install linux on my iPod to make some app's. I have some =
OS=20
and low-level knowledgement and believe that I can help to make a real=20
firmware replacement with linux.
