Strange, because I ran into a very similiar problem, but this was before I started mucking around with the Linux. I think I left the ipod without using for a while. As far as I remember I had connected it up for charging but I am not positively sure about this. Anyway, I too later saw that it was dead and when I took it to the Best Buy for exchange they insisted that they try charging it again. Miraculously it did revive ! Dunno if this is similiar to your case or not. But no harm in trying the warranty in anycase if it doesnt come up at all. This also raises a question which I think has been mentioned elsewhere. Does anyone know whats the best way of keeping the ipod charged ? Is it okay to leave it on charge all the time or is it better to let it run down halfway or full before recharging ? Does anyone have an authoritative answer to this ?
