iPodUGWin.PDF -- at least, that's the Windows user manual.  ;)

	Basically you dock yer iPod, run the restore tool, and click "restore." =
 It's the same tool that installs firmware updates.

upon loading i get the apple then the penguin, after that a bunch of script
and then it says exiting. then any button i hit brings up a letter. it wont connect to the computer, charger and it wont reset or restore. can you help me?
