#4 problems with Apple firmware after installing bootloader

After installing the boot loader sometimes problems are
seen with the regular Apple firmware. Most often the
result is that an attempt to play a MP3 results in the
iPod rebooting. This appears to happen quite
consistenly when the Apple firmware is the default
firmware to start on boot but not when the Linux
firmware is the default.

There seems to be a race condition in the way the
cpu/cop sleep and wake up calls occur.
