#601 V2.2: scheduled download logged as "ran" but did not occur

"check for new podcasts" works at http://feeds.thisamericanlife.org/talpodcast but the scheduler does not work.
Specifically, the log visible under Scheduler->Settings tells me the event did occur 5 seconds after the appointed time, but there is no MP3 file in the Subscriptions directory->Episode. I also tried the scheduler's "check at reguler intervals " mode without success.
(also...the Group v2.2 is not a listed option in the Group template in this bug report so I chose "none")
