#430 Program Crash on Startup if DL Folder, on k: drive not avail
Hello,
I installed ipodder about a week or two ago, I
downloaded about 1gb of podcasts to the default ipodder
download folder (I forget the programs default
location, perhaps it is My Documents\My Received Podcasts)
Well about last week I realized it was taking too much
space to have ipodder download to my c:\ drive
directly. So I changed the preferences to point the
download directory to a different drive letter. K:\My
Received Podcasts\
This worked fine until one day my external drive was
disconnected when i started ipodder. Ipodder started to
run and almost immediately crashed with a little mini
window saying i should check the error log, C:\Program
Files\iPodder\iPodder.exe.log
It seems that if you specify a non c:\ drive letter
download directory, reboot without the drive letter and
start ipodder, ipodder will crash because it can't
access the download directory.
I think this may be a case where a backup default
download directory (fallback) should be used to at
least allow the program to run long enough to 1) warn
the user of the problem and 2) grant them access to the
preferences to change the download directory.
