The code responsible for talking to iTunes on Darwin is
falling seriously behind the code responsible for
talking to it on Windows:

* Darwin can't tell iTunes to synchronise with the iPod
* Darwin can't figure out what files are already in a
playlist
* Darwin can't get a file's rating
* Darwin can't tell iTunes to play a file

    The Windows code can't handle non-bound iPods, either. We
    need to do a whole lot of work, here.

    Taking the liberty of assigning this to Erik, our other Mac
    owner :-)

    Actually Windows can't at present get a file's rating (we
    don't do anything with it anyway).

    BUT, we should implement this in Darwin:

    > tell iTunes to synchronise with the iPod

    Oops, I spoke too soon, Windows has code for getting the rating.
