Is there a later BMC firmware revision beyond 0.26? Andy ________________________________ From: ipm...@li... Subject: [Ipmitool-devel] odd ipmi card behavior Has anyone seen this behavior before from an IPMI card. We have 500 machines all the same, with Tyan motherboards and IPMI cards. === ipmitool mc info Device ID : 32 Device Revision : 0 Firmware Revision : 0.26 IPMI Version : 2.0 Manufacturer ID : 6653 Manufacturer Name : Tyan Computer Corporation Product ID : 2935 (0x0b77) Device Available : yes Provides Device SDRs : no Additional Device Support : Sensor Device SDR Repository Device SEL Device FRU Inventory Device IPMB Event Receiver IPMB Event Generator Bridge Aux Firmware Rev Info : 0x41 0x10 0x00 0x00 For some reason, we're losing are ability to IPMI the machines from the LAN ports. If i run 'ipmitool chassis status' from the local machine, it works fine If i run 'ipmitool -A none -H <hostname> chassis status', it does not work and i get this output ipmi_lan_send_cmd:opened=[0], open=[4414400] IPMI LAN host 0.0.0.0 port 623 Sending IPMI/RMCP presence ping packet ipmi_lan_send_cmd:opened=[1], open=[4414400] No response from remote controller Get Auth Capabilities command failed ipmi_lan_send_cmd:opened=[1], open=[4414400] No response from remote controller Get Auth Capabilities command failed Error: Unable to establish LAN session Failed to open LAN interface Error sending Chassis Status command No other output is logged to dmesg or /var/log/messages It all worked fine, but sporadically we're losing machines. The machines themselves are fine, just IPMI. We've tried 'ipmitool mc reset warm' and 'ipmitool mc reset cold', neither correct the issue, nor am i really sure they even did anything. Any advice is appreciated, thanks |
