How do you generally create the FRU data that is used by the write command. 2 of our vendors hint at a tool but I can't find one. BTW, in 1.8.11, fru edit breaks with a segfault. Don |

We want to create a brand new file. Editing is becoming a problem because some of the fields are larger than the value that was stored. That's not a problem, the tool will let you resize areas, IIRC. -corey On 10/14/2010 03:07 PM, Don Weeks wrote: > We want to create a brand new file. Don, ipmiutil fru allows you to change certain FRU data, like the asset tag, and ipmiutil also has a separate ifruset utility to allow changing any field in the FRU product area. That may do what you want. See ipmiutil.sf.net It is generally considered a bad idea to modify the Board area supplied by the manufacturer. This is an unused FRU data area on the system that we as the OEM are storing our data into however, our vendors are saying their tools that create the FRU data bin files is proprietary to them. I also have a great deal of trouble compiling ipmiutil on Cavium boards.
