Installation of iPath-Server in Windows using z-wamp

Z-WAMP is an easy to use Apache-Mysql-Stack for Windows.

Download and Unzip ZWAMP from here: http://zwamp.sourceforge.net/

After that you will find a zwamp directory like this

ZWAMP

 - vdrive
 - gpl.txt
 - readme.txt
 - zwamp.exe

Activate the php mysql extension

Now you have to navigate to vdrive.sys\php and open the
php.ini file in a text editor.

Around line 200 you will find the following

; extension=php_mysql.dll

remove the ; from the beginning to make php load the mysql extension.

Now restart zwamp (start zwamp.exe) and then right-click on the
z-wamp icon in the system tray and select restart from the
context menu.

Install the iPath-Server

Go to the vdrive folder and there to the web folder. Now download and unzip
iPath to a folder names ipath inside the web folder so that the directory will
look like this

ZWAMP

 - vdrive 
   - web
     - ipath
       - data
       - images
       - include
       - instal 
       ...

Make sure that zwamp is running and the contained mysql database is enable and
running before you continue.

On the very first installation run the zwamp.bat file from the install folder.
This will create a new mysql database named ipath_xampp and create a config
file that points to this database.

WARNING: when you re-run this script the database will be dropped and recreated.
all data will be lost.

Now you can access your iPath Installation to finished the installation from
your browser by opening the URL: http://localhost/ipath

You should be redirected to an installation page of iPath. Please define
an admin user and password and continue.

This will create the iPath data and tmp directory in the following location

ZWAMP

 - vdrive 
   - ipath
     - data
     - tmp

These folders will contain the images and documents uploaded to iPath.

Now you should ne ready to login to your iPath installation and use it.
