Bluetooth audio does work, but with a Bluetooth headphone the sound is discontinuous, seems to have a lot of latency.

    My old Logitech bluetooth headset does work somewhat...
    Connects OK, but audio playback (mp3 or system sounds) is crippled:
    it sounds like there is a pause between each transferred packet. Around 7 audio snippets are played per second with a duty cycle of less than 50% (sorry if I miscounted). So simply a problem of processing speed?

    Well, the current bluetooth speed could be slow, not sure but I've tried increasing the bluetooth UART baud rate (doesn't matter if you don't understand).

    A possible problem is that the bluetooth system is constantly throwing some sort of debug or error message to logcat (IIRC more frequent than one per second), which might be the cause of the low speed. Do you notice that even the system become even less responsive with bluetooth on?

    BTW just created a few (or two) tickets and edited the description of this ticket a bit, see if it matches your description?
