    Please report back if you tries the new File-based Filesystem installation.

    You can report:

    • Usability on different SD cards (excluding SDHC/XC)
    • Working on unpartitioned cards or not
    • Performance (probably using some test programs?)

    OK, according to my feeling, the filesystem isn't actually slow.

    I can't test whether it's workable without formatting the card because I have only formatted cards and corrupted cards.

    Perhaps in the future I will switch to this release instead of uploading an archive of rootfs.

    BTW nobody is replying here??? over 200 downloads and no replies????????

    Hello, I just have installed the file-based filesystem on my old ipaq 214. And it works very well (just have to take care of maintaining the two left keys after releasing the reset button... !)
    wifi, email, browser and gmail agenda sync work fine.
    system is overall slow. could it be faster while flashing the internal rom with android ? and how to do this ?
    thanks a lot for this fantastic work !

    @alex:

    There's something I should remind you, that for my releases, gapps will not be included due to copyright reasons, but you may install them yourself by mounting the rootfs. gapps is the official Google things that are included in most vendor phones (like Gmail, Google Calendar, Play Store, etc.) I really don't suggest using the built-in "Email" function because it sucks.

    Do you want to try flashing? If you do, post here and I can provide more info or help building the necessary files, but actually I didn't tried yet because I want to see someone else did it first...

    I must remind you that, I haven't know where the speed bottleneck is yet, because I have no idea how the r/w speed of the flash differs to SD card. But some guess would be the graphics driver, and also when you touch the touchscreen, you can feel the animation is slowed down by a lot.
