Hi, Dan I post comment for this needs in "Help" section, but I'll add some more words.

+[1].The Web Inventory interface is very intuitive.
+[2].MySQL Database is good platform.
+[3].Apache/PHP is good too.

-[1]. Missing client inventory agent only :)
This Agent can be a script, one for Windows,other for Linux ...and must be posible to collect info, connect and insert/update collected client information into MySQL DB :)

Like this way, inventory will be very powerful and we've more free time for spending :))
Research this question for future planed versions of your project, if you want.
