Welcome to Intertac

The Intertac system is a web service written in python and based on pylons model-view-controllers architecture. The web service is used to upload and share video, text (and soon to add audio) stories around a theme. It is designed for teachers to develop many courses from the same shared material. It has been used initially to teach Aboriginal culture and experiences in health. To use this system you need an initial repository of stories (text or video). Audio support is not fully implemented but is included in the templates.

The software allows teachers to set up a course and select items for a playlist, questions, comments on stories (eg by students) and further resources. You then direct your students to the course site generated and they will view the playlist. Their answers to questions will be emailed to the teacher's email as used for setting up the course.

The main features are:
* Ability to upload more resources over time, under different topics
* Video resources are stored in many formats (webm, ogv and mp3) for viewing with different browsers
* Question and page descriptions are stored under author and can default to original values
* Online tools to select items for playlists including videos (or text), questions, comments and extra resources.
* Moderator tools to select student's comments for viewing
* Generate 3D games from the videos and scripts written from teaching material.

The instructions for dependencies and installation of the site are included in the README.txt file
When you have setup up the main directory, run: python setup.py develop to install the pylons site.
