We need a script to update every locant in IntEnz, as IUBMB has decided to change their representation:

Example (EC 2.3.1.178):
Now:
Acetyl-CoA + L-2,4-diaminobutanoate = CoA + 4-N-acetyl-L-2,4-diaminobutanoate.

should be:
Acetyl-CoA + L-2,4-diaminobutanoate = CoA + N(4)-acetyl-L-2,4-diaminobutanoate.

(ENZYME view)

In special characters representation: '4-<locant>N</locant>-' should be changed to '<locant>N</locant><smallsup>4</smallsup>-'

    I suppose you mean <element>N</element>

Do I understand correctly that Dublin database rushed to change from say N(4)- to 4-N- (and aas far as I remember Gerry never did it) and now IUBMB decided it should stay as N(4)-? What a mess

Yes, it should of course be <element>N</element>, sorry for the error.

Yes, you understand correctly, and yes it is a mess, and they know what I think about it!
