Hi,
I have just entered my first book, and as I did not
know what to write in the Edition field, I entered
"2nd" instead of just "2". This did not result in a
validation error, but resulted in a "database currently
down, please return later" error when I tried to do the
final submission.
I have luckily found a way to cheat the tool in this
situations so I did not loose my work. :-)

I can, I just did twice in different entries.
I did as follows:
New reference
Type: Book
Author(s): Primary, A.B. and Secondary, C. D.
Title: This is a title
Pub. name: Enzymes
Volume: 34
Year: 2004
First page: 42
Last page: 5323
Edition: 2nd
Editor: Me, K.B.
Publisher: IntEnz
Pub. place: Hinxton
View: NC-IUBMB & IntEnz
Status: Suggested
Preview Entry and then Submit
Result: Error
It was not possible to retrieve any information from the
database. Presumably the database server is either too busy
or down at the moment Sorry for any inconvenience this error
might have caused. Please try again later.
Try this and I assure you that you can reproduce the error.

Hi,
Did you ever manage to reproduce this error?

Kristian,
I really try, using exactly the fields you used, but when I
press "Preview" it goes back to the edit mode with an error
message: "The given edition is not an integer."
I'm trying in the test curator tool, but there should be no
difference (they are exactly the same version).
Cheers,
Rafael

Hi,
Well, then it has to wait until we meet again (outside ebi ;-).
/Kristian
Now you can enter '2nd' if you wish. I could not reproduce the database down error message, though.
Fixed in intenz-curator-4.2.14.
