Depending on your system, you may find that databases generated by an integrit with large file support may not be compatible with db's generated by a non-LFS integrit.
Starting with version 3.02, integrit builds with LFS enabled by default on systems that support it. An easy way to transition from a non-LFS integrit to an integrit with LFS is to keep the old integrit around, e.g., renaming it integrit-no-LFS.
Version three greatly enhances integrit's portability.
The exit status is now like that of cmp.
It is now possible to build in a directory other than the source directory.
Version two includes new features like non-inherited rules
and support for specifying databases on the command line.
Integrit no longer uses openssl or restricted code from cdb.
2.01 is the first stable release of integrit version two.
In version 1.06, integrit's output includes more information.
Improvements have been made to portability through bugfixes
and workarounds.
There is a spec file for RPM support.
1.05.03-stable is the first stable release of integrit.
In integrit version 1.05, there is a new standalone auxiliary
program that you can safely ignore or use to view all of the
information integrit looks at for any live file. It's called "i-ls".
You can use i-ls see inode number, access time ... all the
file stat information, as well as SHA-1 checksums for any file.
The hash table code that integrit uses has been made into
a standalone library that users can easily use in any
application.
New in integrit 1.03 is a standalone auxiliary program
called "i-viewdb" which can be used to view the cdb
databases created by integrit.
"make aux" or "gmake aux" will build it. Have fun!
integrit file integrity verification system has improved during sourceforge's own upgrades. Changes include a comprehensive human-readable output format, a better approach to access times, bugfixes, more.
A temporary offsite location is available for downloads during sourceforge system upgrades:
http://www.coe.uga.edu/~ecashin/integrit/download/
Sourceforge is in the middle of many improvements to their system during the time that much progress is being made with
integrit. Since none of the sourceforge means of file distribution are currently working, an offsite location for the latest integrit tarball is needed.
besides bugfixes, integrit version 0.01.03 has a new demo
GUI Perl/Tk viewer for integrits XML output
with the addition of XML output, integrit file verification system, a product for intrusion detection, stays simple and small in memory, while allowing users to easily use the information integrit produces however they need.
version 0.00.03-alpha is the initial release of integrit, a simple
yet secure alternative to products like tripwire.
now's the time to follow your dreams of installing and using
a file integrity verification system that has a small memory
footprint!
