The web page (integrit.sf.net) states the main reasons. integrit is for people who need a product that uses less memory at runtime (in version two of integrit you can even turn off mmap to save more virtual memory) or is less complex. Using less memory means that integrit can be used on production machines, and being less complex means that more of your peers will be willing to use integrit.
