Consider adding these utilities to INSERT.

They will help with image backups and other transfers
that are redirected through a pipe.

splitpipe:

pipeviewer or pv:

Also, please ask the Ultimate Boot CD full version
maintainer to update the UBCD version of INSERT to a
newer version that contains SATA support (kernel
version 2.4.27 or newer).

Thanks again for your excellent project.

INSERT comes with pv already (if I remember correctly:).
I will take a look at splitpipe, but chances are good, if
it's not too large (which it is probably not).
I will ask Charles Appel who does the UBCD/INSERT stuff how
    his plans are.

    Thank you for responding.

My version of INSERT was out of date, and I did not see that
"pv" had been added to the livecd before my request.

    FYI,

I haven't tried the new INSERT yet on some Dell PCs at the
office, but I have tried DamnSmallLinux on them (also uses
    the KDrive xservers).

The D.S.L. KDrive xservers do not work properly with the
"Intel Extreme Graphics" i845g graphics controllers that are
popular with low end computers. The only mode that seems to
    work correctly is VESA 640x480x16bit.

Hopefully the INSERT KDrive servers will work with this (and
    similar) Intel graphics chipsets.

    INSERT already comes with pv.
The addition of splitpipe will strongly be considered.
The UBCD-INSERT maintainer will be contacted.
