[Inkscape-user] Create the same size square box every time

Right now to creating a box with the F4 key or "Create Rectangles or
squares" pick and sizing the box to the size I need, to create a box at
the size I need already.

We only use Inkscape to create a 1/8 square box....That is it, nothing
more.  But we need this box to come in at the same size every single
time.  If I could have a presized box already made and just pick "Create
box" and know it would always come in the right size that would be
great.

Any ideas?

Yes.

Keep a read-only file of the picture elements you need.  When working on
a drawing, open it as well.  Then you can copy & paste all you need.

This is launchpad as a wishlist (maybe even a blueprint). Search for
"template" or "symbol library" to find it and see the proposed
implementation.

You can achieve this by keeping the folder with your svg objects open and
using drag and drop. I do it all the time and it works fine.

Mr. Shawn H. Corey Had the same idea and this seems to work perfect.  I
found I can even send this same svg file to all my users so they do not
have to bother creating one themselves.

You can achieve this by keeping the folder with your svg objects open

I always thought a nice touch would be to have a pop-up dialog displayed on left-click release where 
one could key in the length and width of a shape right then and there on the canvas. This would be a 
feature that you could turn off in the preferences if desired and would also retain the same 
dimensions as the last drawn shape size for quick duplication. But since I cannot code for crap I am 
left with only a dream. :)

Select the object and choose from the menu Object->Transform...

Click on the Scale tab and select the measurement units.  Set the
measurements to those you want and click Apply.
