The RPM installed with no complaints. Here is the output: dan@...:~> inkscape inkscape: error while loading shared libraries: inkscape: undefined symbol: gdk_threads_lock dan@...:~> rpm -qa | grep gtk libgtkhtml-2.4.1-140 gtkspell-2.0.5-53 gtkmm-1.2.10-297 python-gtk-2.0.0-212 gtk2-devel-2.2.4-121 gtk2-engines-2.2.0-393 gtkam-0.1.11dev2-43 gtk2-themes-0.1-634 gtkhtml2-3.0.10-16 libgtkhtml-devel-2.4.1-140 gtk-1.2.10-877 gtkglarea-1.2.2-889 gtkhtml2-devel-3.0.10-16 gtkdoc-1.2-59 gtk-engines-0.12-956 gtk-devel-1.2.10-877 gtklp-0.9p-166 libexif-gtk-0.3.3-304 gtksourceview-0.7.0-129 gtk2-doc-2.2.4-121 gtk2-2.2.4-121 gtkhtml-1.1.10-195 dan@...:~> rpm -qa | grep gdk gdk-pixbuf-0.22.0-57 gdk-pixbuf-gnome-0.22.0-57 gdk-pixbuf-devel-0.22.0-57 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jogchum Reitsma (jehojakim) Date: 2004-11-05 18:21 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=413032 With the help of a_b's comment I found the gtk 2.4 rpm. Thanks! It installed allright, and now I was able to install inkscape. Inkscape wouldn't start though, with error messages that looked like it still found the gtk 2.2, which wasn' t present anymore... Moreover, with gtk 2.4 my e-mail program Thunderbird wouldn't start anymore, so I quickly uninstalled inkscape and re-installed gtk 2.2.... I'll come back on this as soon as I have set up a 'development' PC. jehojakim ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Arpad Biro (a_b) Date: 2004-11-04 10:07 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1015715 When you need a SUSE package, you can use http://rpmseek.com You can download GTK 2.4 for SUSE 9.1 here: ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/supplementary/GNOME/update_for_9.1/base ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jogchum Reitsma (jehojakim) Date: 2004-11-04 00:18 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=413032 Well, I downloaded the new inkscape-0.39-suse91.3.i686.rpm, but now I got the error message while trying to install this rpm: error: Failed dependencies: gtk2 >= 2.4.0 is needed by inkscape-0.39-suse91.3 and I can' t find a .rpm-file for gtk 2.4.0. It doesn' t get much better... Any clues? Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: mrdocs (mrdocs) Date: 2004-11-02 15:37 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=971423 fixed with updated rpm now uploaded on sourceforge ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Arpad Biro (a_b) Date: 2004-10-26 10:51 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1015715 We received a translation of the above mentioned Spanish page from Daniel Díaz: --------------------------- I installed Inkscape yesterday, and after running it I get this error: inkscape: relocation error: inkscape: undefined symbol: gdk_threads_lock Can somebody tell me why is that? I had no dependency-related problems installing it. I fixed it, by changing gtk+ 2.2 to gtk+ 2.4, and on the way I installed gnome 2.6. --------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Arpad Biro (a_b) Date: 2004-10-25 21:56 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1015715 This page may provide a solution: https://listas.linux.org.ar/pipermail/lugar-gral/2004-May/021837.html It's in Spanish, and since I don't speak that language, I used Google's Language Tools (http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en) to translate it. Since this is a machine translation, maybe we should ask our Spanish contributors to translate. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2004-08-19 09:46 Message: Logged In: NO Hi...
