I recently installed Debian Etch on my laptop, then removed all of the
Gnome stuff and installed KDE and Inkscape. For some reason
inkscape cannot open or import svg images (though raster formats work
fine, and inkview can load svg's) and it fails with the error:
(inkscape:25435): libgnomevfs-CRITICAL **: gnome_vfs_uri_is_local: assertion `uri != NULL' failed
which is the same as in [ inkscape-Bugs-1363390 ]
(at http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=13947179 )
The bug fix doesn't provide much information regarding what the problem
was or how to fix it. I am using:
Inkscape 0.44.1 (Sep 25 2006)
But the problem existed in earlier versions also - I didnt think to write
down the old version numbers before I upgraded.
Any help appreciated!
