Hello, When using infonode docking, I was wondering if its possible to change the functionality of the X button in the windows window. For example, I do not want the user to be able to close the program at all. Thank you, Devarsh Joshi. |

I'm not sure what the problem is, you can create a new tab by either dropping on a view title bar or by dropping in the tab area of a tab window. Is this not working for you? -- Regards, Jesper Nordenberg,www.infonode.net |

Darwin: I don't think Infonode is being actively developed anymore. I've forked the source code, but I haven't had anytime to work on it. Can you send me some sample code for the problem you describe? I'll see if I can make time to look at it. hello:
I have make a rootwindow:
RootWindow
|--SplitWindow
|
|-view1
|-view2
|
|--view3
like this:
--------------
| | |
|view1 | |
|------ |view3|
|view2 | |
| | |
--------------
When I drop view1 on view3, I cann't make view2 and view3 in the same TabWindow. the only result is make a view2 and view3 in a SlipWindow.
I have tried the dropfilter, only when I reject all the splitDrop can I make a insertTab drop.
but I see in the demo, when I droped view2 on the titlebar of view3, it can insert it as a tab to view3, when I drop view2 in other place of view3, it make a splitwindow contains view2 and view3.
how can I make that anyone can help me? |

Hi - I am trying to define a nested Rootwindow which, at the top level, is a
set of 3 tabs. Each tab contains a View (a splitWindow etc.). The below
code seems to work in terms of layout but how to I set/customize the visible
Tab names? As it is, the tab titles are defaulting to the 'concatenated'
names of all the views in the tab (e.g. "Navigator, Relationviewer,
Estimator"), whereas I'd like something like "My Tab1".
View.setName() did not seem to work either.
Thanks.
---------------------------------------
<code>
rootWindow = DockingUtil.createRootWindow(viewMap, true);
SplitWindow input = new SplitWindow(false, .8f, new SplitWindow(true, .33f,
view_navigator, new
SplitWindow(true, view_relationviewer, view_details), view_estimator);
SplitWindow output = new SplitWindow(false, .33f,
new SplitWindow(false, .5f, view_table, view_progress),
view_viewer);
SplitWindow meta = new SplitWindow(true, .9f, view_programparms,
view_empty);
TabWindow tabbed = new TabWindow(new DockingWindow[]{input, output, meta});
rootWindow.setWindow(tabbed);

Hi, I'm using the Soft Blue Ice theme which is very nice, the only thing I'd like to change is the tab bar. In case of tab windows, the tabs of this theme are different than the tabs of every other themes. Tabs appear to be separate buttons which don't even connect to the content pane of the panel.. the whole tab bar appears to be a separate component actually. I want to have a regular tab panel and tab bar, could you please help me which propety controls this? My second question is about this Alpha Blended Split Indicator effect. It's in the demo (Docking Example Settings/ Alpha Blended Split Indicator). How can I enable this? Really cool. My last question is that this Slim Cyan theme is avaiable? Or this is included only in the demo. Thanks, Vilmos |

Hello developers, I am using InfoNodeDW for the first time now and I'm really amazed which functionality it provides. But now I have a problem when I try to realize the following: I want different views in the rootWindow (containing TabWindows & SplitWindows). The user should be able to undock these views in new floating windows. This floating windows should not be closeable, so the close button should not appear or the window should dock back to the original position if the user presses the close button. The problem I have is with the last point, I can't get it work so that the close button disappears or the window is not closeable. As I researched and looked it up in the source files the floating windows shouldn't close anyway? So is this a bug? Or do I have to set any flag or something similar? Also are there any good tutorial pages for the idw? Either my Google search wasn't deep enough or there exists nearly nothing. Thanks for your efforts! Best regards, Philipp |

I just want TEXT in tab to be like buttons (dock, undock, maximize,
minimize) which is not visible when unselected.

Hi, there,
The name of my tab is so long, so I have three tabs but I can see one and
half of them.
So I take TabLayoutPolicy.COMPRESSION.
This makes me see all three things. But this also make me cannot see the
full name because this always make name have postfix … .
I think it is good if unselected tab can show only icon and selected can
show its full name like X button or minimize/maximize button
Please see below :

Hello,
I see this error in our application caused by the infonode docking
framework:
Jun 20, 2011 11:15:24.0894 : WARNING : Exception setting layout data:
java.io.InvalidClassException: javax.swing.ImageIcon; local class
incompatible: stream classdesc serialVersionUID = -962022720109015502, local
class serialVersionUID = 532615968316031794
Is it possible the IDW api is serializing javax.swing.ImageIcons across JDK
versions? The Javadocs say "Warning: Serialized objects of this class will
not be compatible with future Swing releases".
Here's a code snippet:
try {
// Load the layout from a byte array
ObjectInputStream in = new ObjectInputStream(new
ByteArrayInputStream(byteArray));
rootWindow.read(in, true);
in.close();
} catch (IOException e1) {
ClientContext.getLogger().warning("Exception setting layout
data: " + e1);
initLayout();
}

Hi, I'm very impressed by infonodes docking framework, but I'm stumped to maybe someone can help. When a minimized window tab is located in the window bar and you click on the label, it expands as a tab above the other docked windows. How can I disable this behavior so pressing the label does nothing? I want to use only the window bar buttons when the window is in the minimized state to dock, maximize, float, etc. Is there a property for this and how would I use it? Any help would be appreciated. BTW, this link does not work so I can't view all the properties: http://www.infonode.net/documentation/idw/properties/rootwindow.html |

We've done this : rootWindow.getRootWindowProperties().setRecursiveTabsEnabled(false); But as for James, users can still nest tabs using dnd. Regards, Hugues Moreau |
