I always thought that this would be somethign good to have parameterized by Content Type.  For example, all "House Ads" expire in 7 days. All Stories expire in 30 days, all Daily Briefings expire in 1 day.

We wrote custom code to implement this via the My Desktop tool, but it also had to account for daily "Roundups" expiring tomorrow unless it is Friday, in that case it expires Monday.

So, it seems like it would be nice to have soem default way to make specific Content Type have configurable expiration times, but also have a "pluggable" strategy class that could do more specific things if needed.  It could be the the default pluggable implementation uses some Content Type Definition property.

Anyway, just my thoughts.

Hi Thomas,

It's unfortunately hardcoded but I can paramameterize it if it's important to any of you. Anyone?

Hi,
is it possible to change the default expiration time (10 years) for new
content  items?

Thanks
Thomas
