#14 Slow Framerate

There are no actual crashes or bugs in the output as far as I can tell, but the framerate for this visualization is pretty slow--I'd say the maximum I can get is 8-10 fps. I've disabled advanced graphical effects on my desktop, such as transparency, but I did not notice any performance improvement. Same goes for limiting the maximum framerate. Other visualizations seem to work fine regardless of other graphical effects being used.

I'm not sure if this is an optimization issue, but an option to reduce the rendering resolution might help.

I'll try to build a similar environment to reproduce the issue reported. Meanwhile, can you provide the output of the 'top' command while experiencing the problem?
