Hi,
I was just wondering if there was a technical
explanation why there is a prefix in the InChI string.
It already generates quite large strings so would it
not be a good idea to omit it in future releases?
Here is an example of water,
InChI=1/H2O/h1H2
The prefix 'InChI=' seems redundant to me?

Paula

Absoltely not. This prefix makes the string identifiable
amoung other data, for example Web pages. These are just a
few bytes nobody cares about in today's storage systems.
