The ability to hold down a keyboard key with a mouse button.

This would allow the thumb buttons to be used for arbitrary modifier keys like CTRL and ALT but without specifying a complete key combination.

While a Thumb button was held down the CTRL key would be pressed (a CTRL KEY DOWN event sent) when it was released the CTRL key would be released ( a CTRL KEY UP event sent )

This would open it up for more use in compture games and other software where the ALT and CTRL keys are modifiers.
