Thank you very much for the program!
I think what the programmer means is that there are a lot of variables in play here that Impro-Visor doesn't necessarily have control over because it's just calling dialogs and print specifics from the underlying OS and drivers. That's how cross-platform software works. OpenJDK and Oracle Java do have their differences, that's why there's a possibility that the Oracle Java interpreter might work better for this code.

Roadmap Key Coloration
I have added the ability to set roadmap colors in the preferences file. It will be included in the next release. At this point, there is unlikely to be a color editor supplied, so the user interested in setting colors will need to supply the RGB values in the preferences file.
I'm not asking you to be responsible for another OS or any operating sytem for that matter. I never raised anything about warranties or anything like that - you're just being a wiseacre. You're the one who raised Mac OSX. You're failing to accept that Mac OSX is just not a viable option for most people, including musicians, and how incongruous it is to prioritise a closed source OS as the main platform for an open source appplcation. I'm not forcing you not to use Mac OSX, and ignore more viable...
I recall (altough my recollection may be faulty, as It was so long ago) that when you first introduced the colour feature you were going to implement a "user set colour" option soon after. Nothing happened so 2 years ago I made my request. I didn't get any response or acknowledgement and this is the first time I have followed up. If nothing can or will be done then that would be a preferably position to be aware of, rather than expecting each new release to deal with the issue. Btw: I was aware of...
I don't know whether Oracle Java will improve your situation or not. You'll have to try it. I don't use Linux routinely, and I can't be responsible for what it does. For that matter, I can't be responsible for what any vendor does with their OS. Please read the open source license: There are no warranties of any kind. We aim to please, but there are limits on our resources.
Mac OSX is far too expensive for me (and the vast majority of the human population). Also, I don't see the point of an open source application that isn't optimised for an open source operating system. I now use Antergos (Arch). Ubuntu was flakey. I blamed Ubuntu for poor quality of printing; expected it to be better on Antergos but it was just as bad. So it's not a "ubuntu" specific problem. On Antegos Impro-Visor I installed via PACMAN with the dependency of OpenJDK 10. Are you saying that if Oracle...
Your request will be considered. However, it is only me available to handle it right now, and I have other stuff in the way. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. You can turn off road map coloration by pressing the "Gray" button. Bob Keller keller@cs.hmc.edu
The pdf looks fine on MacOSx. The problem is with your print chain. I'm sorry if ubuntu has to go to PS first. That is not the normal way. You are limited to what Java does on your platform. Are you using the Oracle Java, or something else?
Still the same, no response. Every time you open a leadsheet you have to set the symbols.
Most of the population has a degree of colour blindness. If the individual user can't adjust the colours to suit them why even have this feature?
Print and output to pdf is still really terrible. Every year I think this is a graet program, I'll really make use of it this year and then I come up against the rubbishy printing and I remember why I don't use it that much. Now using Antergos. Will anyone read this? Probably not! I'll check in again next Easter.
Ok, I'll send you everything I can find tomorrow. Hey! Really cool to hear from you I love this software. I'm using Windows 10, I moved and haven't been able to use access this computer for a bit. I made this lead sheet myself (is this the information you were looking for?). I'll help in any way I can! Got around this problem by installing MATE desktop environment "sudo apt install -y ubuntu-mate-desktop". The drop down menu now renders correctly on Unity and Gnome deskops (as well as Mate).

Hi, It would be useful to ensure the whole of the brick name is shown, however, measures could remain evenly evenly spaced be making more space for the brick name vertically (rather than horizontally); esentially just an extra line for the brick name is probably all that would be required. This would also have advanatge of making the proportions of the roadmap more similar to Conrad Cork, Phil Clark, & john Elliot roadmaps. Kind regards, Adrian

One of our students has been using it on Ubuntu all summer and has not experienced this problem. Which version of Linux are you using?

Not sure if this should reopen this request, but after I first installed Impro-Visor 9.01 on Windows 10 v1607, build 14393.1198 with Java 1.80_131 - I can't even get it to load (stalls during "Loading Vocabulary").
