I am trying to use the program for 2d rigid body problems with contact. So far, it just keeps messing up. My approach is to model bodies with shell_c0_3 elements with all nodes linked to a master node at the gc through a rigid body constraint. Whether these element are Inplane or have their normal Inplane ie contact on edges or faces, it screws up soon after first contact, regardless of time step, or factor.

I will. After experimenting I am having more success. Seems the element thickness has to be high enough and loads low enough for this to work. Generally it's sensitive to input values. I generate the deck using an ansys apdl routine. I can send that too if you like.

Did you generate the input file using GiD interface or Impact pre-postprocessor? Could you attach the file
