It depends on what file system drivers you have installed in Windows. Most of them should work with ImDisk drives.

Discussions seem to be closed at the moment, but I have a somewhat related question: what are the file systems supported by ImDisk? Is ReFS supported, if only for testing purposes?

Sorry for the late answer.
Currently, if ImDisk Toolkit is not installed, and even if you saved the registry values, there is no way in silent mode to tell the installer to not create the shortcuts.
So you have to remove them after the installation with a script.
I will add command line switches in the next release.
