ImDisk cannot emulate an USB device, it does not work at this level. However, it can create removable volumes, which are enough to fool much softwares.
Next, how the data should be backed up? In the RAM (ramdisk) or in an image file?
In the first case, you can use the RamDisk Configuration Tool by adding -o rem in Additional Parameters of the Advanced tab.
In the second case, simply check "Removable" in the "Mount Image File" GUI. To create a new image file, specify a file name that does not exist.
