    Hello,
with my installed version "imdiskinst 2.0.9 built 26 August 2016" - Manager Version 2.0.9 - (Compiled Dec 15 2015), the .VHD is mounted correctly:
    https://github.com/benitoss/ZXNext_Mister/raw/master/extra/zx_next_vhd.zip
I had not done a newer update until now....

The latest version "ImDisk v2.111" wants to format this .VHD file, so does not recognize the format.

Did I make mistakes, or does my report seem beneficial to the creator of ImDisk ;)

    Best regards,
    Günter

Don't know if something has been changed in imdisk.exe, but for me this command works with the driver 2.1.1:
    imdisk -a -f boot.VHD -m Z: -b auto

Thank you very much for the quick reply,
their command prompt works, but unfortunately I can't
replicate this success with the "ImDisk Virtual Disk Driver" GUI.
Here Imdisk still wants to format the .vhd :(

    It is selected:
    Image file: boot.VHD
    Drive letter: Z
Size of virtual disk: (existing image file size)
    Here is selected: Megabytes
Image file offset: (empty line !! , I can also enter 0)
    Here is selected: Bytes
    Device type: auto

Select your file with the "..." button, and then select "Partition 1" in the window "Select partition in disk image". It should now display 253824 Blocks as size and 128 Blocks as offset.

Thank you to them, that is the solution,
I did not know that in this window a selection is possible.
Of course select the partition first ;)
Always good when help is available so quickly.
I wish further a good success and Best regards,,
    Günter
