    Exocomp - 2017-10-03

I installed the latest ImDisk on Windows Server 2016, this is my first time using ImDisk. During the install process the check mark for "ImDisk Virtual Disk Driver" was not ticked (I noticed this after it stated it was done). See screen shot: https://ibb.co/ju5fDw However, the install went well and I'm currently using the RAMDisk feature and it is working fine.

    My questions are:

    1) Why is the "ImDisk Virtual Disk Driver" unticked when it states it is required and in what scenario is that used?
    2) Since I'm using the RAMDisk feature do I need the "ImDisk Virtual Disk Driver"?

By the way, it is a great piece of software thanks for making it available for us!

UPDATE I think I got confused, initially it is checked but once you get the "Installation finished" dialog then it is unchecked, so I think it is fine.

    1) You guessed right: if you already have the same version of the driver installed (or a newer one), the installer automatically unchecks this option. But you can force the install of the driver by checking the option.

This can occur for instance if you first have installed the package distributed by Olof Lagerkvist (here), or if ImDisk Toolkit is already installed.

    2) Yes, the driver is required for almost all the features of ImDisk Toolkit. A volume cannot be created without the driver.
