I created a RAM disk (drive R:) It automounts on Windows Startup.
In the Data tab of RAM Disk Configuration I created an image file, then used the Image File Mount Tool to mount it to Drive S: (also set to "Mount on Windows startup.")
I set it to "Synchronize on shutdown." I take that to mean that the contents of the RAM drive (R:) will be copied to the image file before Windows logs off. But that doesn't happen.
My use is to create a rolling cache folder in MSFS. I want that folder to be in the RAM Drive (R:) when I launch MSFS. That should be happening if:
The contents of the RAM Drive (which has a folder with cached data from my MSFS session) are copied to the image file on shutdown (like it says it will.)
The virtual drive containg the image file is mounted, and the contents of the image file are written back to the RAM Drive on Windows startup (like it says it will.)
What am I not understanding here?
