[MaXXi Desktop] Indigo Magic Desktop for Linux becomes MaXXi Desktop

 Hi all and welcome back !

I am using the imd4linux mailing list to inform you about the MaXXi Desktop
rebirth !

First of all, the project is far from dead as many among you though. I was
mainly very busy with life (family and work) and I hope that you understand
that. Not many people can say they have 4 children these days... Now the
kids are growing up beautifully and I have more free time that I will invest
on the project.

As for the project it self, many people are using it everyday and I made
several stealth releases for special customers in the CG industry. As you
maybe already know, the project has a new name... MaXX Interactive Desktop
or simply MaXXi Desktop. New name for a fresh start with a lot of new
technology and features. The focus of the project changed a bit and you will
be the first to know when I am done with the writing...

The development process will be more open and yes source code will be
available from a SSH/CVS server. New APIs and SDK will be made available to
allow you to write modern high performance desktop applications for MaXXi.
The new road map will be posted tonight (CANADA Time) and I hope to receive
a lot of questions.

Again, I want to emphasise on the fact that I want to build a real community
of Computer Graphics users around the project and bring back the good days
of High Performance Graphic Workstation Environment.


So have a look at the new http://5dwm.org and let me know how to make it
better.
