You won't, unless of course, you use hell a lot of motif apps and installed OpenMotif 2.2 In that case they'll most likely stop working after installing the Sgm lib. > just a few questions, is it safe to just unzip the files etc.. and run > it. Yes, but it won't run at all, most of them- again, unless you haven't used 0.5 before. you will essentially need these: /usr/bin/X11/5Dwm /usr/bin/X11/toolchest /usr/lib/desktop/launcheffect /usr/lib/desktop/waitmap /usr/lib/images/* /usr/lib/X11/schemes/Base/* /usr/lib/X11/system.chestrc /usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/5DWm The xconfirm and tellwm go to /usr/lib/desktop but they're just candies for now, they'll be needed once session and desktop management will be working fine (dtUtilities, fam, etc.) DO NOT apply patches for gr_osview unless you run GCC 3.x > or do i have to uninstall some programs first, then install ? No, unless you have older (0.5) IMD stuff, in case of icons, you can symlink /usr/share/5Dwm to /usr/lib/images, Rambo |
