Mr. Motif - 2003-07-02

I recently tried IMD4L out with ivview and SceneViewer apps, which I use daily at work. There is a small bug wich occures when the "Preferencies" dialog is chosen in the popup menu. If you then click on the "Auto Clipping Planes" ToggleButton. nothing happens, while with the orininal Motif-lib the widget expands itself with a chield containing two tumbwheels.

An other small optical incorrectness (sorry for my pedantics) is the shadow under the ScrollBar and the missing HighLightOnEnter feature of the Scrollbar buttons, but of course, it is beta1 8-)

I was very impressed about beta1!.

Some days are brand in minds of the linux community folks who ever have sit at a real SGI box: the first was 1st of may 2001 (xfs release), the second was yesterday, the IMD4Linux LibXm.so.2.1 release day! 8-)

btw, xplore could be a nicier fm placeholder than rox, because it benefits from Xm.. of course, the icons have to be adapted.. nice to hear from you, that a GL rendering-based incarnation of fm is in build!

  Mine work fine! I can expand the Auto Clipping Planes without any problem!
  
  Just a quick one, do you see a normal size toggle box? Do you see anything unusual on the preference panel? If yes, please email me a screenshot at eric@5dwm.org

  I'm using 2.1.5-9 and the latest cvs because I had trouble to compile with gcc-3.2. So I used the icc which compiles fine.. The checkbox I see is smaller than the usual ones and the checkers are a bit misplaced. I can click and the the ckecker looks broken. The lowerest "Point of rotation axes works, but only once, then the button is disabled...
  I use redhat-8.0 gcc version 3.2 20020903 and your recommended 2.1.30-5_ICS Motif package with suitable devel-pack.
  
  An ivview I tried displayed remote from my old SGI looks better, the toggle box is in normal size, I expact the widget works correct.. cannot really try because the ivvew has limited functionality and the SceneViewer is no longer installed under IRIX...
  
  Did you ever heared about mxman? I browsed my Motif archive last days.. it is a manpage viewer.. now it compiles under Linux, looks nice, also a free Motif builder called vdx is available.. I sent shots and code and my attention goes back to gr_osview (I'm the man who send it to you)
