[Imageprocess-user] how to calculate distances in an image

Hi to all: Hate to bother you with my question, but
can anyone point me to somewhere with solution to my
question, which is:
I'd like to calculate distance between two dark filled
round objects in an image. The distance doesn't have
to be any real measurement units, i.e. I just wanted
to know  the "relative" distance between the two
objects from one image to another, while objects are
moving apart, as images are being taken.
