Do you think "Undo Cropping" would get more immediate recognition of what the button does?
Well I am not natively english speaking, is "cropping" more common than "clipping" in this context ?
I would have never guessed, as you handle the language so perfectly!
But, to answer your question, yes, in common English usage, even for photography, the term is "crop." This is discarding the unwanted peripheral parts of an image.
The word "clip" has a different connotation, and would cause confusion in an English-language version. Because the words are similar, you likely wouldn't pick this up from dictionary definitions ... but the term's usage in Irfanview, for example, is correct.
Again, a great program! I used to attempt this in Irfanview (and others) by resizing and then sharpening, but this works so much better, has more options to refine the result, and is ten times faster.
I was sorry to see in another post that someone failed to appreciate your work and not only couldn't specify the problem, but was also very rude. As there was no asking for help, I don't know the point of the post. I do know it certainly wasn't 'on topic.' I don't know if such comments should be allowed to remain, but of course that is your decision ... I felt bad that you are so generous to share your work, and then have to put up with this kind of discourtesy.
Yes, "Undo Cropping" is perfect. You'll also want to change the same word in the Tool Tip for the left image window.
On my system, the Tool Tips appear only after a slight delay, so if the cursor is moved rapidly over the window one might miss that they're there. Do you think it would be a good idea, for example, to move the word "Preview" to the right, to free up some space in the center, and then have in small type, something like, "Hover cursor over images for Help" or, just, "Hover over images for Help"?
Because of the Tool Tip's slight display lag, I didn't immediately realize that directions would show if I would position the cursor there and just hold it still, for a moment.
Not sure where your question got to. I saw it in my E-mail, followed it here, now don't see it. Anyway, my response is here in this thread, starting with "Yes, 'Undo Cropping' is ...
'Clipping' was replaced by 'Cropping' whereever I found it.
