I don't recall having seen a response to this post.
I'm guessing that:
1) you have a LOT of stuff (files and directories) in your home directory on the
2) you did not specify a mail root (like "Mail") for folders to be stored in.
Default behaviour for IMAP is to look for mail folders in your home directory,
unless an alternate directory is specified.
Your mailserver is looking at every folder and file in your home directory, and
taking more than 30 seconds to do it.
Create a folder called "Mail" in your home directory, then in IlohaMail, go to
the preferences tab and select "Mail" to be the IMAP root.
You probably also want to go to the defaults.generic.inc file and set the IMAP
root there, too.
