I had the same issue here. I'm running KeePassX 0.4.0 on my Mac, and the same on Windows, both of which can open the .kdb file without any issue. When I double-checked to make sure the case of the file name is exactly as hosted on the server, I found that I had made a typo in the server path -- if you look under the "Use local database" switch, you'll find the full path and database name -- this should reflect the full name of the file on your server.
Once I corrected that, the file opened without any database corruption.

naming the server and the database name are likely the problem behind the corruption issue.
1) name the server based on the root directory. if the full path to your .kdb file is: http://myserver.com/myDB.kdb , then you will name your server: http://myserver.com.
2) create/add a new database in ikeepass named the same as the one you are about to download, in this case: myDB.kdb
3) enter password, wait for it to crunch a bit, and you should be seeing your db open without any corruption mssg.

nobody's comment at 2009-11-10 12:45 fixed my problem. The GUI is confusing, which is the basic problem. The config screen could be designed better. I had typed the full URL (including the kdb file name) into the field that is named Server:
A fix for this might be that the App should just check to see if the value of the Server: field already contains a KDB file in it.

I am getting the same database corrupted. I am running windows 7 OS. I had KeePass 2.0, but I have downgraded to 1.7 thinking that was it. I have tried adding my passwords to the test one. everything that I have done has been unsuccessfully.
This gets very frustrating, I love KeePass, I have used it for sometime with my blackberry and computer, but now I have changed to the iPhone and I just want to put the passwords on my phone and can't. :)

I had everything typed correctly and was still getting the "Database is corrupted" error. The problem was that iKeepass is case-sensitive for the filenames on the server and the iPhone defaults to capitalizing the first letter. Once I changed the first letter of the database filename, everything worked.

Same problem with iKeepass v1.0, and 'Use Local Database On'.
