i have this setup: browser > privoxy > squid > internet (i forward privoxy to the lan proxy)

in this way i use privoxy to filter my personal browsing but to be able to exit the lan i have to pass through the proxy, too.

i have sites that i want to be ignored by privoxy, but cannot simply tell the browser to "skip proxying" because to reach "external" sites, the only way to exit is to go through the squid proxy.

i've read the faq.<<4.19. How can I tell Privoxy to totally ignore certain sites?
Bypassing a proxy, or proxying based on arbitrary criteria, is purely a browser configuration issue, not a Privoxy issue. Modern browsers typically do have settings for not proxying certain sites. Check your browser's help files.>>

but as i said above, i think this cannot apply to proxy chaining case, or not? is there any other way? i tipically use firefox, chrome browsers, and i have only "use proxy/except for" settings...

Thanks! marco

You can disable filters and actions for certain sites and let Privoxy forward the requests:
    http://config.privoxy.org/user-manual/actions-file.html

This doesn't bypass Privoxy (the reasons are described in the FAQ you quoted) but if you only want to bypass the actions and filters it should be sufficient.
