Summary: newbie...problem with privoxy

Initial Comment:
Had a quick question,
I installed privoxy on my computer and it isent working,i 
configured it just like the instructions state ..but i get 
nothing.Aol is my internet provider(tried installing firefox 
but it doesnt seem to be working either)and i have a dial 
up connection.Does privoxy/tor work with a dialup conn 
or do i need dsl?Any help would be great.Tor aint 
working either,the message line in the black box says... 
no running dirservers known not trying (purpose1).  My e-
mail is...mr...@br...ANKS.
