Regular http:// access is blocked just fine. Typing https://ad.doubleclick.net into the p.p "Look up which actions apply to a URL and why" box says that Privoxy can only block the host part of the URL. Fine. That's what I want to block. In the "matches" section Privoxy finds: {+block } ad*. {+block } .ad. {+block +handle-as-image } .[a-vx-z]*.doubleclick.net and in the user.action section Privoxy finds the very specific: {+block } ad.doubleclick.net The final results section lists none of these. Any solutions would be very appreciated, as some interaction between the above URL, Privoxy, and Mozilla kills Mozilla. Very annoying. Trying IE 5.2, the browser doesn't crash, but the ads aren't filtered either (not unexpectedly, give the above information. Use a nameserver on your own machine/gateway, and add a zone that DON'T have an IP pointer at the doubleclick.net domain. Stops everything from them. The reason privoxy aint blocking the domain, is becaues the trafick over https is encrypted. They use encryption in order to bypass filters like privoxy. By running your own nameserver (I use BIND) you effectively stop it. -- Solbu ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=211118&aid=1003689&group_id=11118 |
