Category: None Group: version 3.0.15 beta >Status: Pending Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Oblio (end-user) Assigned to: Fabian Keil (fabiankeil) Summary: slow/unresponsive Initial Comment: I'm finding Privoxy to be slow or unresponsive. This is true whether "enabled" or "disabled" - it only goes away when the browser makes a direct connection. Basically, when the browser makes a request, the response seems to lag or fail altogether. In some cases the request isn't sent at all. I've got debug set to 1536, so I can see what comes through. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Fabian Keil (fabiankeil) Date: 2009-12-23 14:41 Message: Great. A logfile that shows the problem would still be useful, though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Oblio (end-user) Date: 2009-12-22 13:43 Message: Yeah, changing the keep-alive seems to make it much more responsive. I'll keep watching it, but initial results are positive. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Fabian Keil (fabiankeil) Date: 2009-12-22 13:26 Message: A log file that shows the problem would still be useful, but please additionally enable debug 8 and debug 2. Does the problem still show up if you comment out the keep-alive-timeout line in Privoxy's config file? Are your browser's configured to use proxy pipelining? If yes, does disabling it help? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Oblio (end-user) Date: 2009-12-21 15:56 Message: I'm on XP. I don't recall whether this was happening with .13, but I recall it with .14. I can send a logfile, but the problem is the requests don't actually seem to be getting /to/ the proxy. It behaves as though it's busy and doesn't answer. I don't have a way to peek at the communications between the programs. And, it seems sort of intermittent, but is most significant when a program idles for a while. I see it most pronounced when using Yahoo mail - specifically the ajax-based requests. I'm comparing it to FF's interactions, and when I connect directly. I'm using Privoxy with IE and Chrome, and testing from two separate machines with different types of connectivity. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Fabian Keil (fabiankeil) Date: 2009-12-21 13:42 Message: Thanks for the report. If you already have debugging enabled anyway, please show us the logfile so we can help you diagnose what's the cause of the problem is. It would also help to know what operating system you use and if this is a regression that didn't exist in earlier versions. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=111118&aid=2918677&group_id=11118 |
